The San Bernardino Municipal Water Department’s Engineering Section develops and implements the Department’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) throughout the design and construction phases for water utility, sewer collection, and wastewater treatment infrastructures.
SBMWD’s construction management team will closely monitor construction activities in order to minimize community impacts and ensure all work is done within normal construction guidelines.
SBMWD understands that construction can create an inconvenience to neighbors and businesses. Messages received after normal business hours will be returned between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the next business day.

Rialto Avenue & J Street Sewer Main Replacement Project
The project involves the replacement of approximately 1,065 linear feet of 8‐inch diameter sewer pipeline, 4 maintenance holes and multiple sewer service laterals along Rialto Avenue and "J" Street.
Highland Avenue & Cedar Street Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Project
The project involves the replacement of approximately 450 linear feet of 8‐inch diameter sewer pipeline, rehabilitation of an existing maintenance hole and replaces a portion of the damaged sewer pipe near Highland Avenue and Cedar Street.
